Anne-Marie Stokes

The Mill Restaurant, Stone
21 October 2016

I had the pleasure of doing the wedding makeup of the beautiful Ann-Marie today. Ann-Marie married Lee today at St. Peters Church, Hednesford who she met at work.

I did the makeup of Ann-Marie, her mom and two bridesmaids.

Ann-marie wore a gorgeous Phoenix bridal gown which she purchased from Aisle Be There which i'm happy to say I was at the shop when she purchased it.

Julie Clark

Pendrell Hall

15 October 2016

I was booked to do the wedding makeup of Julie and her bridal party who was going to get married at Pendrell Hall. One of my favorite wedding venues. Because Pendrell Hall only allow brides into the Venue on the day at 10.30 to get ready I started the makeup of the party at Julies house.

I arrived at Julies house at 7am and started the makeup of Julie’s sister in law, Kelley who wanted a natural look then started to do the makeup of Amy who was Julies daughter.  While I was doing Amy’s makeup her partner rang and they were teasing the groomsmen that Julie had changed her mind. I had just completed Amy’s eyes before we had to go to Pendrell Hall where I would finish the rest of the makeup look and then do Julies wedding make up.

Julie's Sister in Law Kelley

Julie's Daughter Amy

During the morning we were joined by Julie’s hairdresser, Becky from Root 46 Hairdressing.

Pendrell hall was a 40 minute drive and when I arrived I was greeted by a stressed Julie who jokingly said that Kelly's driving nearly killed them on the drive over.

We all unpacked, then had a quick look around the venue where I was blown away by how beautiful the venue was decorated. David and Lynne from fine flowers did all the bouquets and table arrangements and every time I see their flowers i'm stunned at how beautifully they are put together.

Because time was getting on we all made our way back into the preparation room "Love is enough" where I made a start on the finishing touches of Amy's makeup. The bridal party had some fantastic music playing where there was lots of singing, dancing and reminising when the wedding co-ordinator came up to tell us to turn the music down as the guests would be arriving soon and because how close the room is to where the guests wait it would be too loud. That was the point when it started to turn real and Julie nerves started to kick in. By this time it was time for me to do Julies makeup. Julie had beautiful eyes so I wanted to make sure her wedding makeup emphasised that as well as complimenting the rest of her bridal look.

Julie the Bride

During the morning we were joined by Andrew from David Wadley Photography and Electra Films (video below).

We all helped Julie into her dress which was a stunning Ronald Joyce lace gown with a long train which was from Luna Anne Bridal just in time before the registrars came up to do the pre-wedding interview.  We left Julie in peace and by the time the interview was over it was almost time for the ceremony. I prepared the flowers ready for the girls by drying the stems off with a towel and showing them the best way to hold them. We then had a few minutes, Julie looked really happy but also nervous I said my goodbyes as Julie walked down the grand staircase to the ceremony room.

Julie you looked so beautiful. Thank you so much for booking me to do your makeup.

Vicky Sully

Hawksyard Hall

8 October 2016

Photo taken by Redlock Photography

The weather was dry, warm and sunny for October. I was warmly welcomed at the house by Vicky’s mom and niece, who was one of the flower girls.

Vickie has just qualified as a midwife and we had a lot in common to talk about.

During the morning Vickie’s niece was playing the nerf wars with her uncle and at one point nearly hit me, it was so funny, she was such a cutie.

I was booked to do the makeup of Vickie, her mom and sister in law. Vickie doesn’t normally wear makeup and wanted something elegant but not heavy so we decided to concentrate on making her eyes stand out and used the Airbase Airbrush Foundation. We used a beautiful colour of eye shadow from Charlotte Tilbury that sparkled every time she blinked with added lashes.

When I arrived the hair dresser Milena was there from S.A.M.S Hair shop up north where Vickie’s family was from.

I Did Vickie's mom first then Vickie then the bridesmaid.

Whilst doing Vickie's makeup Bernadette from Rosabella York brought the stunning flowers and stayed for a coffee and chat and was mesmerised by the airbrush machine I was using.

Ant from Redrock Photography and Stephen from Yellow Tree Films arrived and enjoyed a little game of Nerf Wars with Vickie's niece before making a start on recording this lovely morning.

Vickie’s brother who was with the groom for the morning came to collect the button holes and was very complimentary of Vickie’s makeup and even at one point wanted to take a photo.

The wedding cars from Love Wedding Cars arrived and everyone went into panic mode. I only had a bridesmaid left to do. She also doesn’t wear much makeup and asked me to do whatever I wanted. She had beautiful eyes and so it was only right to show them off. I gave her a nice pink Smokey eye.

Everyone got into their dresses while I cleaned up. And they came into the room one by one to have any touch ups done. They all looked amazing, then Vicky came in and I was blown away she looked radiant and so beautiful. She wore a lace Ronald Joyce dress from Lula Ann Bridal

The Wedding venue was at Hawksyard Estate which Dates from the 13th Century, with beautiful formal gardens , Hawkesyard Estate is steeped in Staffordshire history with links to the Spode family, Nathaniel Lister and Sir Robert Peel, Combining a Gothic, romantic and picturesque feel. The venue was a perfect pick for Vicky and I had such a lovely morning with them.

Jeanette Tipper

The Barns, Cannock

24 September 2016

I arrived at Jeanette’s home where I was immediately greeted with a friendly hug, a bacon butty and cuppa. What more could I ask for.

I setup in the new orangery which Jeanette had just had built last month, there was a gorgeous massive skylight and doors that open the full length of the room giving plenty of natural light to work with. I started the makeup of one of her twin daughters first, one who works in NHS admin and the other is a midwife.

The bridal party recently had a vintage photo shoot and loved the hair and makeup so wanted something similar but in keeping with bridal and toned down. We were soon joined by the photographer Gary Gibbons who was very cheeky in a funny way and showed me how to use my camera.

I went on to do the makeup of Jeanette who wanted her eyes to stand out and loved a smokey eye.

Jeanette works as a manager in the NHS and is where she met and works alongside her other bridesmaids. It was lovely having a good chat about our NHS and how I don’t miss working as a nurse but miss the patients.

During the morning we were joined by Lynn the florist from Fine Flowers and I was totally blown away at how beautiful they were. They were superb, perfect in every way as they always are,

Later in the morning we were joined by Jeanette’s step children who were as good as gold and enjoyed having some glitter eye shadow and lip gloss on before having their hair sprayed with glitter by Gemma of Dream Bridal Hair

The ladies went upstairs to get dressed and came down in beautiful knee length vintage style dresses …….. Jeanette’s dress was just perfect and quintessential for her style of wedding. Jeanette’s dress was from Light on the Box.

Before long Jeanette was ready to go and take the journey in a rebuilt Bentley that was done by Jason, (the groom) to the Barn’s in Cannock.

Jeannette had a solid team of wedding suppliers looking after her that day! The wedding cake was done by talented Kathryn’s Homemade Cakes and the venue beautifully decorated by Lynne from http://eventieleganti.co.uk/Eventi Eleganti

It was a pleasure to have met Jeanette not only as a client but now as a friend. Jeanette is certainly made of strong stuff and was a beautiful bride I can’t thank her enough for booking me and look forward to seeing your wedding photos.
