Hannah Marsden

Pendrell Hall

1st October 2016

Hannah married Stuart and had her reception at Pendrell Hall. They met through mutual friends and took 18 months to organise the wedding. It was a dull day and rained heavily as the day went on, but everyone was cheerful.

Hannah had the ceremony in a church near to Pendrell Hall but wanted her hair and makeup to be done at home so that when she got to the venue she could have a look around and see the reception décor. The wedding was an elegant classic style with a pink and grey colour scheme.

Hannah had the airbrush makeup and wanted full coverage, finished with an elegant golden smokey eye. Hannah does suffer from adult acne and was conscious about how her skin would be on the wedding day. Unfortunately a few days before the wedding Hannah developed a blemish which she was extremely upset about, I messaged her a few days before and gave advice on what to do and followed up with re-assurances. The blemish on the day covered well with the airbrush makeup.

I then traveled over to Pendrell Hall to do the makeup of her last bridesmaid, Hannah's sister. When we arrived at the venue we were joined by the talented Photographer Natasha from New Era photography and Hannah's wedding flowers arranged by Amy Fairley had been delivered which was a lovely welcome.
When I was almost done with her sisters makeup everyone started getting dressed.

Hannah's dress was a Ronald Joyce from Shropshire Country Brides, while her bridesmaids' dresses were from Debenhams.

Hannah’s mom started to get her into her dress when the hook and eye had popped open (luckily I carry a sewing kit) and her mom started to sow a new one back on, but the fabric was that thick her mom was struggling. I could see the panic on her mom’s face trying to not let on to Hannah the drama that was going on. I finished the makeup then told her mom to get dressed and I would carry on. When I got to the back of the dress I had noticed that there was a bit of blood on the dress as Hannah's mom had pricked her finger. I had learnt a trick from a bridal dress designer on what to do to cover up blood or marks on a dress and got to work covering it. After sowing on a new hook and eye it was still pulling open and so I added a safety pin in to keep the zip up. We were running late at this time but Hannah was determined to not let her morning events get her down.
When everyone was dressed they got into the car and I had a sneak peak at the reception room, I'm never disappointed with how beautiful that venue is.

Thank you so much Hannah for booking me to do your wedding makeup.

Jeanette Tipper

The Barns, Cannock

24 September 2016

I arrived at Jeanette’s home where I was immediately greeted with a friendly hug, a bacon butty and cuppa. What more could I ask for.

I setup in the new orangery which Jeanette had just had built last month, there was a gorgeous massive skylight and doors that open the full length of the room giving plenty of natural light to work with. I started the makeup of one of her twin daughters first, one who works in NHS admin and the other is a midwife.

The bridal party recently had a vintage photo shoot and loved the hair and makeup so wanted something similar but in keeping with bridal and toned down. We were soon joined by the photographer Gary Gibbons who was very cheeky in a funny way and showed me how to use my camera.

I went on to do the makeup of Jeanette who wanted her eyes to stand out and loved a smokey eye.

Jeanette works as a manager in the NHS and is where she met and works alongside her other bridesmaids. It was lovely having a good chat about our NHS and how I don’t miss working as a nurse but miss the patients.

During the morning we were joined by Lynn the florist from Fine Flowers and I was totally blown away at how beautiful they were. They were superb, perfect in every way as they always are,

Later in the morning we were joined by Jeanette’s step children who were as good as gold and enjoyed having some glitter eye shadow and lip gloss on before having their hair sprayed with glitter by Gemma of Dream Bridal Hair

The ladies went upstairs to get dressed and came down in beautiful knee length vintage style dresses …….. Jeanette’s dress was just perfect and quintessential for her style of wedding. Jeanette’s dress was from Light on the Box.

Before long Jeanette was ready to go and take the journey in a rebuilt Bentley that was done by Jason, (the groom) to the Barn’s in Cannock.

Jeannette had a solid team of wedding suppliers looking after her that day! The wedding cake was done by talented Kathryn’s Homemade Cakes and the venue beautifully decorated by Lynne from http://eventieleganti.co.uk/Eventi Eleganti

It was a pleasure to have met Jeanette not only as a client but now as a friend. Jeanette is certainly made of strong stuff and was a beautiful bride I can’t thank her enough for booking me and look forward to seeing your wedding photos.

Fiona Woodhead

Hogarths Hotel, Solihull

23 September 2016

I was booked last year to do the makeup of Fiona and her bridesmaids.
Fiona and Jamie met through plenty of fish the dating website when Fiona first moved down to London where she works as a private nanny. The couple had their first date in Richmond and second date at Bournemouth beach.

They've been together for three years. Jamie proposed after a day at winter wonderland in London, outside the London eye.

On the wedding day I arrived at 7am at Hogarth’s Hotel to a dry sunny day for the Wedding of Fiona. On meeting Fiona at the hotel I was told about the Family emergencies the day before. The night before one auntie, Maria had crashed her car on the way to the hotel (had the cake in the car) another auntie fell over and smashed her face cutting her nose and chin. Fiona’s cousin had developed a tooth abscess which had given her a swollen face for the wedding.

As there was a total of ten bridesmaids I had my fabulous friend and talented makeup artist Grace lawless to help me do the makeup of three of the bridesmaids, It was a lovely morning and even more so because the mother of the groom also joined in with the celebrations.

Once everyone’s makeup was done I then moved over to the bridal suite where it was just me, Kirsti Lewis the hairdresser and Fiona’s mom. I got Fiona into her dress which had a gorgeous corset back and layers of layers of exquisite lace. Fiona purchased her dress from Lisa rose Bridal and wore my favorite brand of shoes by Irregular choice. Fiona didn’t want anyone to see her until she was fully dressed so kept all the eager bridesmaids waiting in the corridor till she was ready.

The bridal party wanted Fiona to be ready and dressed for 1pm because unbeknown to her, the groom had organised a surprise. Fiona was totally confused and didn’t have a clue what was going on.

Looking back it was quite funny as Fiona was told to come out of the bridal suite where she was totally bewildered as to what was going on. The bridal party sneaked into the corridors and waited to be given the all clear to then go out into the reception and outside as to where a wedding car was waiting.

After a few close calls of bumping into the groom, Fiona eventually got outside and went for a drive with her dad up and down the hotels drive. When Fiona and her dad returned they were greeted by a receiving line of bridesmaids and had lots of photos by Enchanted wood photography.

Then, slightly late Fiona went into a conference room for her interview with the registrars whilst the groom and groomsmen went outside to where the ceremony was to be taken place.

Fiona had finished the interview and got in line with her dad in arm ready to walk down the aisle. All the bridesmaids were nervous and were discussing which order they should walk down and how fast they should walk before they all got called by the wedding coordinator to go down for the wedding.

It was here that I took a few photos before saying good luck and good bye to the bride. She looked so beautiful.

Louise Webb

Pendrell Hall

16 September 2016

west midlands makeup artist, staffordshire makeup artist, westmidsmua, #helenpearsonmua #pendrellhall

On Friday 16th September I did the wedding of Louise Webb. I arrived at the Mount hotel in Wolverhampton in the dreaded rain with Gemma Neville from Dream Bridal hair. We got set up in separate rooms and was introduced to Louise’s bridesmaids.

Louise married Michael in a civil ceremony at Pendrell Hall which is in the West Midlands and one of the country’s most romantic country house wedding venues; it combines all the character and romance of Victorian England with crisp contemporary interiors to suit any wedding theme.

Louise and Michael met through work where they are both Sales reps for two freight companies, and after a couple of years he proposed to her on Christmas Eve 2015.

I did the makeup of two of the bridesmaids first and used a variety of soft pink tones to compliment the colour theme which was soft pinks and greys. I then did the makeup of Louise as she wanted her hair and makeup done before she got to Pendrell so that she could take her time once arrived to have a look around the venue before the wedding. Louise’s makeup was beautifully elegant yet flawless, I used soft browns and ivory colour eyeshadows.

Once I’d finished Louise’s makeup we then moved on to the wedding venue at Pendrell hall where I continued to do the makeup of the last bridesmaid.

The wedding colour theme was soft pinks, white’s and grey colours which was complimented with beautiful flowers of peonies and hydrangea’s in soft pinks and white from Richards Floral Design.

The amazing yet crazy Sally Wood arrived at the venue with her new haircut and started to take lots of pictures of the bridal party getting ready capturing all getting ready moments.

Louise got into her stunning wedding dress with the help of her bridesmaids. The beautiful princess style sparkly Mori Lee bridal gown was purchased from Red Rose Bridal which has since gone into administration.

Before I left I managed to see the reception room and was blown away by how gorgeous it looked. The wedding cake was a 4 tired pink and white frilled cake and looked gorgeous, Louise with the help of cake maker Sarah got her cake from Codsall Cupcakes.

Louise and Michael are having a two week honeymoon in the Maldives and I hope they have a lovely relaxing time away.

Congratulations and I can’t thank you enough for booking me to do your wedding makeup.
