Julie Clark

Pendrell Hall

15 October 2016

I was booked to do the wedding makeup of Julie and her bridal party who was going to get married at Pendrell Hall. One of my favorite wedding venues. Because Pendrell Hall only allow brides into the Venue on the day at 10.30 to get ready I started the makeup of the party at Julies house.

I arrived at Julies house at 7am and started the makeup of Julie’s sister in law, Kelley who wanted a natural look then started to do the makeup of Amy who was Julies daughter.  While I was doing Amy’s makeup her partner rang and they were teasing the groomsmen that Julie had changed her mind. I had just completed Amy’s eyes before we had to go to Pendrell Hall where I would finish the rest of the makeup look and then do Julies wedding make up.

During the morning we were joined by Julie’s hairdresser, Becky from Root 46 Hairdressing.

Pendrell hall was a 40 minute drive and when I arrived I was greeted by a stressed Julie who jokingly said that Kelly's driving nearly killed them on the drive over.

We all unpacked, then had a quick look around the venue where I was blown away by how beautiful the venue was decorated. David and Lynne from fine flowers did all the bouquets and table arrangements and every time I see their flowers i'm stunned at how beautifully they are put together.

Because time was getting on we all made our way back into the preparation room "Love is enough" where I made a start on the finishing touches of Amy's makeup. The bridal party had some fantastic music playing where there was lots of singing, dancing and reminising when the wedding co-ordinator came up to tell us to turn the music down as the guests would be arriving soon and because how close the room is to where the guests wait it would be too loud. That was the point when it started to turn real and Julie nerves started to kick in. By this time it was time for me to do Julies makeup. Julie had beautiful eyes so I wanted to make sure her wedding makeup emphasised that as well as complimenting the rest of her bridal look.

Julie the Bride

During the morning we were joined by Andrew from David Wadley Photography and Electra Films (video below).

We all helped Julie into her dress which was a stunning Ronald Joyce lace gown with a long train which was from Luna Anne Bridal just in time before the registrars came up to do the pre-wedding interview.  We left Julie in peace and by the time the interview was over it was almost time for the ceremony. I prepared the flowers ready for the girls by drying the stems off with a towel and showing them the best way to hold them. We then had a few minutes, Julie looked really happy but also nervous I said my goodbyes as Julie walked down the grand staircase to the ceremony room.

Julie you looked so beautiful. Thank you so much for booking me to do your makeup.
