Jeanette Tipper

The Barns, Cannock

24 September 2016

I arrived at Jeanette’s home where I was immediately greeted with a friendly hug, a bacon butty and cuppa. What more could I ask for.

I setup in the new orangery which Jeanette had just had built last month, there was a gorgeous massive skylight and doors that open the full length of the room giving plenty of natural light to work with. I started the makeup of one of her twin daughters first, one who works in NHS admin and the other is a midwife.

The bridal party recently had a vintage photo shoot and loved the hair and makeup so wanted something similar but in keeping with bridal and toned down. We were soon joined by the photographer Gary Gibbons who was very cheeky in a funny way and showed me how to use my camera.

I went on to do the makeup of Jeanette who wanted her eyes to stand out and loved a smokey eye.

Jeanette works as a manager in the NHS and is where she met and works alongside her other bridesmaids. It was lovely having a good chat about our NHS and how I don’t miss working as a nurse but miss the patients.

During the morning we were joined by Lynn the florist from Fine Flowers and I was totally blown away at how beautiful they were. They were superb, perfect in every way as they always are,

Later in the morning we were joined by Jeanette’s step children who were as good as gold and enjoyed having some glitter eye shadow and lip gloss on before having their hair sprayed with glitter by Gemma of Dream Bridal Hair

The ladies went upstairs to get dressed and came down in beautiful knee length vintage style dresses …….. Jeanette’s dress was just perfect and quintessential for her style of wedding. Jeanette’s dress was from Light on the Box.

Before long Jeanette was ready to go and take the journey in a rebuilt Bentley that was done by Jason, (the groom) to the Barn’s in Cannock.

Jeannette had a solid team of wedding suppliers looking after her that day! The wedding cake was done by talented Kathryn’s Homemade Cakes and the venue beautifully decorated by Lynne from http://eventieleganti.co.uk/Eventi Eleganti

It was a pleasure to have met Jeanette not only as a client but now as a friend. Jeanette is certainly made of strong stuff and was a beautiful bride I can’t thank her enough for booking me and look forward to seeing your wedding photos.

Kerrie Benton

The Barns, Cannock

4 June 2015

It was the wedding morning of Kerrie who married Pete at The Barns, in Cannock which is a restored 18th century farmhouse on the edge of Cannock Chase.

Kerrie met Pete at work and have 4 children between them. Pete is a site supervisor and Kerrie is currently a full time mom.

Kerrie and Pete's colour scheme was blushed pink and mint green. So we decided on Kerrie's makeup trial to loosely go with those colour's in the makeup too but still looking natural as Kerrie doesn't normally wear much makeup.

When I arrived at Kerrie's parent's house on the wedding morning, Kerrie was quite nervous understandably.

I was greeted in there by Lottie, Kerrie's Maid of Honour, and her friend Sarah, the official photographer for the day.

I did Lotty the chief bridesmaid's makeup first and incorporated a soft smoky pearlesant pink into her eye shadow with a peachy lip colour.

Lotty doesn't usually wear much makeup so I did keep this to a minimum which she was happy with.
After a little brew break and Bucks Fizz I did the wedding makeup of Kerrie.

This was where Kerrie could sit down, unwind and relax and enjoy a bit of pampering. I was assisted by Kerrie's beautiful Daughter who was bursting with excitement about the day. She had just had her hair done and kept coming up to me to show me her flower headband.

I recreated the makeup I did for Kerrie's makeup trial as she found it perfect. I used mainly natural earth colours to complement her skin tone and hair colour but keeping it natural enough for her to be comfortable with.

Kerrie had already had her hair done by Yvonne Wiggin So all that was left to do was for her to get her dress on.
While Kerrie was getting dressed I stayed downstairs and helped to look after her daughter who had great joy in showing off her bridesmaid dress and flower headband.  The first to come downstairs was Lottie who looked beautiful in her dusty pink satin dress. Lottie was amazing at doing hair so did her own in a fish tale side plait.

Kerrie's flowers were delivered and supplied by her best friend Anna Hall and were gorgeous pink and white roses.

Kerrie's mom came downstairs and got everyone ready for Kerrie's entrance. Her dad was waiting downstairs and looked so proud when he saw her. Everyone had a photo with Kerrie and before long it was time to go to the church.  She looked so beautiful in her dress which she had purchased from Formal Elegance, in Cannock.

Kerrie was very lucky that she could arrive in style to the church as her parents own and run  His and Hers Wedding Cars Car company.

Before long Kerrie and the bridal party were ready for the off so I topped up their lipstick and wished them good luck for the day.

Here is a little video of Kerrie leaving her parents house to go and get married. Please click on the video to view.

Heather Smith

The Barns Hotel, Cannock

6/3/2015

I turned up at the Barns Hotel a little early on the morning of Heather's wedding. I was so excited to meet the rest of her bridal party as we had such a good laugh on the trial. Heather's family were lovely.

I started to do the makeup of Heather's mom who was very excited as the rest of the Bridal party was having their hair styled at Francesco's Hair salon in Cannock.  We went quite natural with the makeup as she's a natural beauty anyway and doesn't need that much.

It was the brides turn in the chair which was a good opportunity for Heather to relax a little bit. Like her mom, Heather doesn't wear much makeup but did want a glamorous bridal look. To go with her theme of the wedding which was pastel pink vintage style. So I followed on with this theme of makeup for each of the bridesmaids.

Heather and Mat met 9 years ago when Heather was working in a pub in great Wyrley.

Mat proposed by the lake at the end of a lovely break at Center parcs
They have 2 beautiful girls Amelia and Scarlett who are both flower girls.

Heather had 3 bridesmaids, her sister Hayley and 2 good friends Terri and Helen and 4 flower girls; heathers 2 daughters and 2 nieces who are 7 and 4.The flower girls were so good on the morning of the wedding and enjoyed watching CBeebies from the comfort of the massive bridal bed.

The morning went nice and relaxed till the last hour when it was time to get the dresses on.  Heathers Wedding dress was from Katie's brides in Heath Hayes and the designer is Kay Mason, the bridesmaids dresses were from BHS.

The bridal party was all dressed and almost ready to go so I left them for a few minutes to give them some quality quiet time before the mad rush out the door.

I went downstairs to have a look at the reception room and it totally made me speechless. The room was stunning. It was so elegant and pretty the Barns reception room decor certainly fitted in with the theme.

The flowers who were done by Carrie Lucas Flowers were breathtakingly beautiful. They were pastel colours all delicately arranged and just finished the vintage theme Heather wanted.

Heather and Mathews cake was made by her talented friend which was also decorated with sugar crafted pastel flowers just like that of the real flowers. It was beautiful.

I went back upstairs to report back to Heather how beautiful the room was and to touch up any makeup and lipstick required.

Then the time came for Heather to get married.
The owner of the Barns and his very sophisticated Bentley took Heather and her dad from the hotel reception to the front door of the Barns Hotel Entrance which is where I last saw Heather beaming from ear to ear. She looked so happy.

It was such a lovely morning spending such precious time with Heather and her bridal party. Thankyou so much for booking me. And I look forward to seeing all the wedding photos. Congratulations to Heather and Mathew.
