Naomi Grundy

The Fairlawns Hotel and Spa, Aldridge

21/2/2015

Ben and Naomi
Today was the first time I met Naomi and her family. When I arrived everyone was pretty chilled out but drinking plenty of the energy drinks due to lack of sleep the night before.

I did Naomi's makeup first and as the wedding theme was bold and bright colours, Naomi wanted a dramatic bridal look with pink lips. I used the Urban Decay Naked palette and bobby Brown black gel eyeliner to create Naomi's eye look with Mac's face and body foundation
Gemma from Dream Bridal Hair straightened and then plaited Naomi's hair to the back to create a very classic look. She looked like "red carpet royalty". I had such fun creating this look. She almost shed a tear.

Naomi and Bens wedding was a small intimate wedding with very close family and friends.
The wedding was at the Fairlawns Hotel, Little Aston. The Fairlawns Hotel and Spa is a private family owned and managed venue situated within 9 acres of landscaped grounds with wedding garden. The reception room was decorated beautifully by Jo from Chic Covers. The bright colour theme carried onto the pretty and simple reception room having various colours of Gerbera flowers as centre pieces.  Which then in turn laid attention on the choice of wedding cake Naomi and Ben had. It was a tower of delicious mini cakes made lovingly by her good friend.

Naomi met Ben at O'neills in Sutton on a night out with friends. Then fast forward  a couple of years Ben proposed on holiday after they finally had their official mortgage offer after a nightmare with other lenders.

Naomi and Ben have Been planning their wedding since January 2014 when they got engaged in October 2013 but Naomi wasn't allowed to start planning till they had moved into the new house. When Naomi was allowed to plan they decided the colour theme would be Colourful as they are both big fans of bright colours.

Naomi bought her Mori Lee elegant satin wedding dress from Red Rose Bridal in Boldmere. It has pretty silver and pearl beads as a belt around the waist. We initially had a bit of a struggle with static on the dress but nothing a bit of hairspray wouldn't sort out.

The whole morning was captured by brilliant photographer Lorna Gilbert who was also a family friend.

Naomi had two bridesmaids Susie her sister and Alison her close friend. The bridesmaids wore a vibrant pink dress with a black shawl.
The whole look was stunning.

Sarah Morgan

Sarah and David

I first met Sarah last year when she approached me at the Ramada Hotel, Cannock wedding Fayre when she asked me to do her wedding makeup. I was over the moon of course because her husband is a well known, and much loved wedding Vocalist.

I was honoured to say the least.Sarah and David got married at The Barns Hotel in Cannock, which is Set in an 18th-century farmhouse. The Barns Hotel offers elegant rooms with traditional charm and en suite bathrooms. Just 5 minutes’ from the beautiful Cannock Chase. Eventi eleganti decorated the venue for the happy couple even using swags of flowers and foliage for the staircases. Sarah and David opted for a  3 tier Cheese wedding cake too from Marks and Spencer.

Sarah decided upon natural colours with a pink lip and added individual lashes to compliment her beautiful wedding dress which she had from Bea's Bridal Boutique, Coventry. The theme of the wedding was centred around valentines day so was very romantic with love hearts etc. The bridesmaids dresses were Claret for the older bridesmaids and ivory for the younger bridesmaids. The table and venue flowers were cut and dried by Sarah's mom and the bouquets and buttonholes were made by Codall Flower Shop in Wolverhampton, and the photographer they chose was Sally Hewes.

Sarah all ready for the wedding

Sarah and David have been friends since childhood and attending the same schools together. Sarah went on to train as a teacher and David became an amazing vocalist travelling all over the country for corporate events and weddings.
They bumped into each other again several years later which led onto a first date. Timings couldn't of been worse as Sarah had signed a contract to teach in the Middle East two weeks earlier. They agreed on a long distance relationship till they couldn't cope any more and Sarah flew back home. Sarah and David then got engaged 7 months later.

The morning of the wedding was lovely and relaxed. When I arrived I was surprised by a yummy heart shaped box of chocolates from Sarah.  Which Sarah gave me as a thank you for doing her makeup on Valentine's Day.

In the hotel room was Sarah, her sister Leigh, her mom and Gemma who was doing the hair. Sarah's dad kept popping in to check we were OK and keeping the bride informed of developments of the wedding.

When every body's makeup and hair was done it was time for Sarah to get dolled up in her wedding dress, which she was lucky enough to have an army of amazing girlfriends to help her with.

Some reasurance and encouragement before the wedding

Sarah had her pre-wedding photographs taken, had some champagne, and last minute goodbyes from her friends and family when it was time for her to go downstairs for the wedding.  But not before her little drive in the hotel owners Bentley. Sarah looked so radiant and happy. It was here where I left Sarah and wished her a lovely day.

Charlie Tryer

Lichfield Registars office followed by reception at The Cedar Tree Hotel, Rugeley

13/2/2015

I met the beautiful Charlie a month ago on her trial where it we decided she would have a glamerous smokey eye with a nude lip, which would compliment her dress, hair style and theme of the wedding. I think you will agree, she looked so glamorous.
When i arrived at Charlie's house on the day of the wedding, the atmosphere was very relaxed. I set up my makeup space and enjoyed a cup of tea with the bridal party and Charlie's two very well behaved children, Mathew (6) and Macey (2).
I was working alongside the very talented Gemma Neville from Dream Bridal Hair who created Charlie's wedding hair.

Charlie met her husband to be Ricky on MySpace then met up with him again at a rock night in Cannock.

Ricky's proposal wasn't a big one but a welcomed one in the kitchen.
Charlie once warned him if he asked her in front of people she would be too embarrassed and probably say no haha! 😳

Almost ready for the Registry Office

Charlie and Ricky had 10 months to plan the wedding and the colour theme was Cadbury purple. Charlie had her older sister as the maid of honour and her younger sister as her bridesmaid. Charlie's daughter and niece were flower girls and her son and nephew were Page boys.
