Fiona Woodhead

Hogarths Hotel, Solihull

23 September 2016

Fiona and Jamie met through plenty of fish the dating website when Fiona first moved down to London to work as a nanny. The couple had their first date in Richmond and their second date at Bournemouth beach.

They've been together for three years and Jamie proposed after a day at winter wonderland in London, he proposed outside the London eye.

I arrived at 7 am at the beautiful Hogarth’s Hotel to a dry sunny day for the Wedding of Fiona. When I arrived I was told about the Family emergencies and mishaps that happened the day before. The night before one auntie, Maria had crashed her car on the way to the hotel (had the cake in the car) another auntie fell over and smashed her face cutting her nose and chin. Fiona’s cousin had developed a tooth abscess which had given her a swollen face for the wedding, but considering all that happened, Fiona was in a great mood.

Fiona's bridal party was a big one! I had a total of ten in the party, so I had lovely Grace Lawless to help me do the makeup of three of the bridesmaids. It was a nice morning with the mother of the groom who was also with us.

I did Fiona's makeup and five of her bridesmaids and Grace did the other four. Fiona had a beautiful bronze smokey eye with a neutral lip colour, she looked amazing and was super happy with the results.

The Bridal suite was ready so we all moved over there to do any final preparations, where it was just me, Kirsti Lewis the hairdresser and Fiona’s mom. I got Fiona into her Sophia tolli –prinia dress which was a corset back from Lisa rose Bridal and shoes by Irregular choice shoes. Fiona didn’t want anyone to see her until she was dressed and ready to go.

The bridal party wanted Fiona to be ready and dressed for 1pm unbeknown to her as the groom had organised a surprise drive around in a wedding car and she didn’t have a clue what was going on.

Looking back it was quite funny as when Fiona was ready she was told to come down earlier than she planned and was all confused and concerned as to what was going on. The bridal party sneaked her into the corridors outside to where the wedding car was waiting to take her for a spin but we were running late and because the groom was in the room near to where we had to go we were sneaking in and out of rooms and corridors.

Fiona eventually got outside to where she was surprised by the car and went for a ride up up and down the long driveway. She returned to a receiving a line of bridesmaids and had lots of photos by her photographer Enchanted wood photography.

By this time Fiona was running just on time to where she had to go and see the registrars. This is where we said our goodbye's. Everyone was happy with their makeup results and thanked Grace and myself before leaving them.

After a couple of weeks I received some of Fiona's professional photos and they looked amazing, and captured the couples happy nature.

I cant thank you enough Fiona for booking me to do your wedding makeup.

Fiona Woodhead

Hogarths Hotel, Solihull

23 September 2016

I was booked last year to do the makeup of Fiona and her bridesmaids.
Fiona and Jamie met through plenty of fish the dating website when Fiona first moved down to London where she works as a private nanny. The couple had their first date in Richmond and second date at Bournemouth beach.

They've been together for three years. Jamie proposed after a day at winter wonderland in London, outside the London eye.

On the wedding day I arrived at 7am at Hogarth’s Hotel to a dry sunny day for the Wedding of Fiona. On meeting Fiona at the hotel I was told about the Family emergencies the day before. The night before one auntie, Maria had crashed her car on the way to the hotel (had the cake in the car) another auntie fell over and smashed her face cutting her nose and chin. Fiona’s cousin had developed a tooth abscess which had given her a swollen face for the wedding.

As there was a total of ten bridesmaids I had my fabulous friend and talented makeup artist Grace lawless to help me do the makeup of three of the bridesmaids, It was a lovely morning and even more so because the mother of the groom also joined in with the celebrations.

Once everyone’s makeup was done I then moved over to the bridal suite where it was just me, Kirsti Lewis the hairdresser and Fiona’s mom. I got Fiona into her dress which had a gorgeous corset back and layers of layers of exquisite lace. Fiona purchased her dress from Lisa rose Bridal and wore my favorite brand of shoes by Irregular choice. Fiona didn’t want anyone to see her until she was fully dressed so kept all the eager bridesmaids waiting in the corridor till she was ready.

The bridal party wanted Fiona to be ready and dressed for 1pm because unbeknown to her, the groom had organised a surprise. Fiona was totally confused and didn’t have a clue what was going on.

Looking back it was quite funny as Fiona was told to come out of the bridal suite where she was totally bewildered as to what was going on. The bridal party sneaked into the corridors and waited to be given the all clear to then go out into the reception and outside as to where a wedding car was waiting.

After a few close calls of bumping into the groom, Fiona eventually got outside and went for a drive with her dad up and down the hotels drive. When Fiona and her dad returned they were greeted by a receiving line of bridesmaids and had lots of photos by Enchanted wood photography.

Then, slightly late Fiona went into a conference room for her interview with the registrars whilst the groom and groomsmen went outside to where the ceremony was to be taken place.

Fiona had finished the interview and got in line with her dad in arm ready to walk down the aisle. All the bridesmaids were nervous and were discussing which order they should walk down and how fast they should walk before they all got called by the wedding coordinator to go down for the wedding.

It was here that I took a few photos before saying good luck and good bye to the bride. She looked so beautiful.
